In 2020, Hannah's Helpers began to expand the scope of their vision to include adding changing tables to locations around the community that could be used by larger children and adults who need them. These locations are often made inaccessible due the lack of changing facilities. The Fresno Zoo has agreed to add two different adult size changing tables that we are currently fundraising for and are excited to get them installed!
Join Hannah's Helpers at our first annual Train for Change event.
Tickets include one roundtrip ride on the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad, (train departs promptly at 11:00am), with a luncheon to follow including bbq hamburgers, hotdogs, sides, and drink. Raffle tickets will be available during lunch to win a variety of different items and gift baskets.
All proceeds benefit Hannah's Helpers as we continue our efforts in making the community more accessible for special needs families and supporting the doctors and nurses that care for them.
Hannah is no stranger to spending days, weeks, and even months at Community Regional Medical Center in downtown Fresno. The days can seem long and lonely, so we want to do a little something to bring a smile to the faces of children who are stuck in the hospital.
Pillowcase for Smiles does just that. The Hannah’s Helpers sewing squad creates vibrant and cheery pillowcases to be delivered to the hospital's pediatric units throughout the year. Something as simple as a pillowcase can make one child's stay seem a little bit less intimidating.
Imagine U Children's Museum in Visalia and Hannah's Helpers are working together to provide a safe changing space for children with disabilities. We are also hoping to purchase supportive seating systems that will allow these children the opportunity to participate and interact with the various exhibits at the Museum. We are looking forward to finding new ways to continue this partnership into the future.
Parents and families members that stay in the hospital with their children often struggle with the opportunity to leave and get food for themselves. Hannah's Pantry provides snacks and meals for families that may not have the opportunity or financial capability to purchase food for themselves.
You can help fill Hannah's pantry by shopping our Amazon shopping list.
Starting in 2018, Hannah's Helpers began providing a Christmas Eve meal to the pediatric, PICU and NICU areas of Community Regional Medical Center. This hospital has been home to Hannah for many weeks throughout her life. This dinner has become an annual tradition partnering with Valle Grullense to provide over 250 enchiladas dinners each year.
We were excited to partner with the city of Visalia and Unlimited Play in developing a new all inclusive playground in Visalia, CA. The grant application has been filed and we are anxiously waiting some news. Hoping to bring this wonderful opportunity to our community.
As Hannah grows we are beginning to discover more areas in the community that are not easy for her to access. Hannah's Helpers are working to spread awareness and increase access where we can.
